Madder (rubia cardifolia)

Color: Orange red to brick and wine reds.

Source: plant roots.

Strike= Medium-slow

Notes: Dissolve extract in warm, NEVER BOILING, water. Strain into dye pot of cool to warm water. Keep dye bath below 175F at all times; higher dye bath temperatures will “brown out” the color.
